Her passion for Arts started at the age of 5 growing up amongst the Loire Valley castles. Her grand-mother used to take Solène to admire those astonishing homes filled with art, elegant interiors and heritage. This began her love affair with art in the home.
Through her great grandmother, Solène directly descend of the Royal House of Britanny, the Royal French Family directly from the Royal House of Anjou and the Royal Plantagenet Kings and Queens and the Britons Kings and Queens. The house of Britanny is closely related to Leonardo da Vinci, whom painted The Mona Lisa bought by King Francois I and Claude of Britanny and is now a treasure conserved in the Louvre.
Da Vinci has layed peacefully as a close friend and the only non royal allowed, next to the French Royal Family, next to Anne de Bretagne in the Chapel of the Anjou Royal castle in Amboise.
He also painted the Lady of the Ermine, in reference to her family and her coats of arms that is amongst one of the most important symbol in mysticism and royal families. Solène was given to carry the Ermine as well as the Fleur de Lys via her great, great grandmother in 2023 that has been proudly carried by her family for over a 1000 years.
Upon leaving Sotheby’s, in 2012, Solène previously co-founded a company called Back From Black Beam Renovation Ltd that became the leader in its industry with a niche product developed and distributed exclusively by the company.
The company was involved in over 1,000 projects, mainly the restoration of listed buildings (country houses, farmhouses, pubs, hotels and manors) in England, France and Belgium. Solène sold the business in 2019 and went back to her true love and passion: art.
She decided to combine her extensive knowledge of interiors and properties with art and founded SOLÈNE in 2020.
